General

It depends on amperage and cable length. For most 12V systems up to 50 amps with short runs (under 3 ft), 8 AWG is fine. For 100+ amp loads or runs over 6 feet, use 4 AWG or larger. When in doubt, contact us with your load and distance and we will recommend the right gauge.
Stranded wire is more flexible and better for battery cables, vibration-prone environments like RVs and marine, and routing around tight bends. Solid wire holds its shape and is used for fixed in-wall installations. For DC power projects, stranded is almost always the right choice.
Anderson Power Pole connectors are genderless, stackable DC connectors widely used in ham radio, emergency communications, RV, and solar applications. They come in 15A, 30A, and 45A sizes and use a standard housing that locks together in any combination. We stock kits with housings, contacts, and roll pins ready to crimp.
AWG stands for American Wire Gauge, a standardized system for measuring wire diameter used in the United States and Canada. A lower AWG number means a thicker wire with greater current-carrying capacity (e.g., 10 AWG is thicker than 14 AWG).
Match the connector to your wire gauge and application. Ring terminals and battery lugs are common for bolted connections. Anderson Power Poles and SAE connectors are used for quick-disconnect DC circuits. XT60/XT90 and Deans plugs are popular in RC and robotics. Our support team can help you pick the right one.

Custom Cables

Most standard matrix assemblies ship within 3–5 business days. The Custom Cable Builder shows the available configurations and exact pricing before you add the cable to cart.
No minimums. We happily build a single cable or 5,000. There are no setup fees on standard assemblies. Volume pricing kicks in at 10+ pieces and scales further at 25+ and 100+.
The instant builder only shows connector configurations that are already in the WireNPower matrix. More connector families can be added to the matrix later, but customers will only be able to buy supported, priced configurations.
Use the Gauge Helper in Step 2 of the builder: enter your maximum amperage and cable run length, and it will recommend the right AWG to keep voltage drop under 3% at 12V DC. Then choose from the supported matrix options shown in the builder.
We ship to the US, Canada, and most international destinations. Shipping, taxes, and payment are calculated in Shopify checkout.
This builder is intentionally limited to known, priced configurations so customers can buy immediately without waiting for manual review.
